Monthly Digest: November nuggets

Last thursday was a great learning and sharing session. For sure, the members and guests brought home nuggets of wisdom from esteemed toastmasters like Byron, Guan Siew, John, and Pradeep.

Of course, the prepared speech speakers Kevin, Harris, Carolyn, and Letchu stirred up our thoughts on well thought-out topics ranging from snooring to polygamy. From the words of our mentor Guan Siew, the sincerity of our hearts shines throughout the delivery of the speeches. Not to forget of course, was Myrna’s table topics session which allowed speakers to express their capability to sell products like tongkat ali, Christmas socks (thankfully not my socks), Mr.Bean’s bear, including our very own Harris. All impromptu.

But what really touched our hearts was the evaluation of Pradeep, a long time friend of the club who is always ready to share his honesty, time, and effort. Pradeep expressed the high level of quality that abounds our young club. He initially wanted to say something about the deteriorating situation of clubs but he was just delighted to experience the passion that reverbirated throughout the four walls of the Siglap CC conference room that night.

We accept this with humble hearts but there are still more things we need to achieve. For existing members, let us all stay the course. For future members, I hope you join us in this journey to meet our common objectives.

We also had guests who got to learn about our club through this Web site. They are Dan Quan and Yuan, both Chinese nationals, who are part of Singapore’s great multicultural diversity. We hope you share your experience to your friends and join us again next meeting. This shows the great benefits of having a Web site, its like having someone talk about our club 24/7.

For the next meeting, please do not forget to bring your gifts and infectious laughs. Our Area Governor Jeshua would be more than happy to see us all there.
